Random Walks, Percolation, Stochastic CA
📚 Week 7 readings
This week we cover a mechanism (randomness!) that produces interesting structure in the world around us. Incorporating random walks into the growth of systems can generate fractal geometry that closely mimics coastlines, plants, circulatory structure, and many other natural phenomena. We will develop a model using random walks in the plane to generate Brownian trees, and measure their dimension... which may be fractional, hence fractal geometry!
